Richard Donaldson
Richard’s heart began to fail and he developed a life-threatening irregular heart beat. That’s when Sean Mazer, MD, stepped in. An Albuquerque native and Board Certified cardiac electrophysiologist at the New Mexico Heart Institute, Dr. Mazer offered expert knowledge and leading edge technology. Now, after several complex procedures and implantation of an internal defibrillator, Richard can once again romp with his grandkids.
Richard has been a patient of New Mexico Heart Institute for more than 20 years. At age 47, he suffered a heart attack and was rushed to emergency angioplasty to open a clogged artery in his heart. On the advice of his New Mexico Heart Institute cardiologist, he stopped smoking and hasn’t eaten red meat since. Within a few weeks, he was back to work. About ten years ago, when Richard was diagnosed with a life-threatening abdominal aortic aneurysm, he turned to New Mexico Heart Institute, once again, where his surgeon skillfully repaired the problem.
